Mirrored Home Lifestyle

Would you believe it if I told you your home lifestyle and appearance gives clues to your personality, talents, gifts, condition of our soul and preparation towards your purpose and function in society?

The creation of the world was all done with intent, imagination, thoughts, vision, order, function and purpose by our Creator. Each of us display unique perspectives and creativity portraying our identity.

Jeremiah 29:11 ” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Our home appearance gives a “sneak peek” of what is going on in our lives. Perhaps your depressed, stressed, ill, grieving, tired, alone, or have children? Typically, the result ends in disorder and a messy house, because you don’t feel like cleaning or cooking, so those things take a backseat in maintaining order and peace in the home.

These factors can be issues of emotional, physical, spiritual, or lifestyles that are expressed in our surroundings. How we handle our time, is key. Maintenance, is also a key component in which we do “little by little” to keep things under control. It works well even as a college student studying so your not overwhelmed for the final test. Not only that but another influential key is if our relationships to those in the home. Are you communicating with others around you on how to help in the home? Or at the office?

These same key principles are paralleled in a “spiritual law of relationship” with the Lord. Spend time with the Lord each day, communicate and maintain relationship with Him. Let God by His Holy Spirit guide and lead you. He automatically will give peace and order for the day.

On the other hand, you may keep your home clean, organized, and beautifully designed for function. These are traits of people who are usually energetic, healthy, and strategic with planning. ( think ceo, managers, leaders, designers, organizers, etc). Or it may mean these folks don’t have kids around! Ha!

Do you have a desire to host guests in your home? These people have a potential gift of hospitality or business ability to serve others. ( think B&B, mission home, retreats, welcome team at church, etc). These characteristics are a mirror reflection of the gifts and personality of who God made you to be and a direction of plans for you.

Pay attention to what you enjoy doing in your home. Pay attention to your “likes” . You may be surprised what you’ll discover about yourself and why God placed those things in you! Remember it is always for a greater purpose than yourself.

What does your house look like? Any room for improvement? Is it time for “soul clutter” removal as well?
