This picture of a young man balancing on top of a rock arch displays incredible bravery, concentration, strength, and focus to land his bike as a champion.
In our everyday events, we must choose to stay focused on what really counts in life and to God. The Lord tells us to stay focused on Him through this journey on earth until we meet Him in eternity. We may ask “Well what does He wants us to do?”.
Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” (NASB)
We are to do His will. What is the will of the Father?
1 John 3:23 “And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.”
God’s will? Believe in Christ and love each other.
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.“
What is God’s will to focus and concentrate on?
Seek the Kingdom of God and His righteous. Love the Lord God with all your heart, Seek Him in all your ways. Look for His goodness, holiness, justice, faithfulness, grace, love, joy, mercy, patience, wisdom, clarity, knowledge, understanding, & salvation. Plant good seeds of the hope and truth of the gospel, be healed, have prosperity, strength, miracles, peace, depart from evil, give to others, rely on the power of Holy Spirit and so much more that describes the Kingdom of God. (the Kingdom of Heaven)
Hebrews 12: 13-21 to “equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
God’s will? His will is to equip us with every good thing according to His will, not ours. And to please Him. What pleases Him? Listening to His Word and by taking time with Him. Faith in Jesus. Hope and Love in Him. Trusting His plans for you. Go make disciples, teach, spread the gospel, and baptize believers. Be thankful and grateful for protection and talk with Jesus like He’s your friend. Staying focused on Him through every turn on our path of ups and downs in life.
James 1:25-27 NLT “If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. vs26 “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.”
God’s will? Control your tongue, care for the orphans, widows, ( the poor) and do not conform to the world’s corruption of greed, rebellion, witchcraft, lusts, pride, lying, drunkenness, adultery, and every evil thing.
The Conclusion? What should be our steady focus and concentration on?
Ecclesiastes 12: 13 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all.”
Fear God?
Honor and love Him. Obey His commands. Please Him by faith and trust. Respect His grace. Believe in His Son. Seek justice and right standing with Him. Study His Word. Pray. Use His tools to advance the Kingdom of God. Act like His children (those who love Jesus) and do good.
I challenge you to study all verses on God’s will and commandments which leads to the general purpose for all of us who love the LORD. In following God’s will, you will find your own specific purpose for you. He will guide you. Amen!
