Some days seem so mundane. It lacks excitement. Life can feel so dull or routine.
It reminds me of the child’s Aesop story of The Tortoise and the Hare. They raced to see who would win. The Hare, aka rabbit, figured he was guaranteed the race against the turtle, because he was visibly and physically faster. The Tortoise, of course, obviously had shorter legs, a heavy shell, and progressed at a much slower rate. All bets would have been on the over confident, fast wired rabbit.
Some days we feel totally confident to run the race with our own abilities, jumping over every obstacle, but then other days we lack interest or desire to accomplish anything!
The fast paced Hare started out great but then foolishly let his guard down, got distracted and lost the race through the valleys and hills. The Tortoise on the other hand, ( or should I say “foot”, lol ) pursued slow and steady and won the race.
The Lord comes to our aid when life appears mundane, dull, routine or heavy with burdens. He then gives “grace to win the race”. Paul reminds us to finish the race even through the storms.
Acts 20:24 (NKJV)
“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.“
We can not stop running the race for our freedoms, our children, our country, or our purpose to further the kingdom of heaven. Let us not get distracted with the worlds view of materialistic happiness, or worthless things, but continue in Gods strength and joy. Let us not rely on our own strength but His.
Running the race with endurance even when it seems slow. How about you?
