I was reading a small book on prosperity, as simple as it was; it was just a quick booklet on that persons experience of how God opened his eyes to believe and have faith for finances. A simple conversation between him and the Lord. I’m asking God to stir our faith up again that we can believe for financial abundance.
There’s definitely a connection with the enemy trying to steal our joy, health, and finances, family, until we lose hope or at least come close to it. He continues the attacks until more doubt and unbelief creeps in our heart without us even really knowing it.
In our society we place so much value in our money and have a hard time believing that God will take care of us. Many of us have faith for healing but we lack faith for finances! Why ? We have faith for receiving Jesus Christ as our Savior for salvation but why do we struggle so much with having faith for finances?
Could it be just lack of trust in God? Are we serving the money master rather than the “real Master” of abundance, who created us? Matthew 6:24, no one can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other or he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon”.
Matthew 7:7 “seek first the kingdom of God and all these other things shall be given to you” Seeking His heart first. Going about doing good just like Jesus did. Acts 10:38. Recognizing God’s heart for this world and that of course is to go out destroy the works of the devil, save souls and let them realize how much He loves them!
I remember reading when Jesus sent the disciples out two by two, he told him not to take a sack or extra clothing or money, just go, preach and teach the gospel. They seemed to always have a place to stay and a place to preach. And they always seem to have found work. That is when they weren’t in prison (LOL)
So why then do we worry so much that we’re not going to be taken care of? Perhaps it’s just selfishness, because we’re seeking our own desires first and not God’s first?
Basically, God is saying “go do my work for me and I’ll take care of you” ( paraphrased of course) Go preach and teach the Gospel of salvation and the Gospel of the kingdom of heaven wherever you are and go.
In America we rely on self-sufficiency, thinking that we’re doing everything on our own without God. We’ve been blessed with so much prosperity in our country but do we fall under that mistake of forgetting where it comes from? Forgetting to be thankful and grateful for what God has given us?
In fact, this is repeated in Deuteronomy 8- 11-17 “ Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping his commandments…..lest when you have eaten and are full and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them, …that you say in your heart my power and the might of my hand have gave me this wealth..” vs 18 and you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth.”
When we have to trust God for finances, why does our stomach hurt and fear come in? Again, I believe, from lack of trust in God. Because we trust in our own work so much. We don’t recognize the love of from the Father. Perhaps I’m speaking from my own heart and yours? When we do not spend time with someone, we do not get to know them or learn to trust them. This perhaps is the same reason why we lack faith for finances. If we don’t have a close relationship with God, our Father and His goodness, we lack understanding of His love.
It definitely goes back to trusting in God with all our hearts and not leaning on our own understanding Proverbs 3:5-6
My spirit is willing to believe but my flesh is crying out against trusting God! I have to fight against the worries of this world and fear which is only from our enemies.
Perhaps there are some of you that never had a father you could rely on,? Maybe they disappointed you and did not keep their promises? Or there was no father to provide for you. This makes it even more difficult to trust God our Father.
Also we may not understand the “fullness of God’s grace” for us. Grace, the unmerited favor of God’s blessing in all things. We need to be fully convinced that Grace has us covered and how much He really loves us.
Let’s pray: Lord show me how much you love me. Stir up the faith in me. Jesus Your spirit lives in me and so Your faith is in me as a believer. Rise up faith for finances in Jesus name! I break away every worry, anxiety, fear, in Jesus name. I will not let the enemy steal my joy, my peace, my financial blessing, by fear and worry. John 10:10…. The devil came to steal but Jesus you came to give me abundance. I receive that abundance now, in Jesus name! Amen. Thank you Lord for Your Love and provision. Hallelujah!
